Global University Ratings 2013

The 2013 rankings for universities across the globe are out and American schools claimed key top spots.

According to the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities list, Harvard University is no. 1, followed by Stanford University (no. 2);  University of California, Berkeley (no. 3);  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (no. 4); and University of Cambridge (no. 5). Cornell University came in at no. 13.

MIT earned the top spot on a second list, compiled by the QS World University Rankings. There, MIT ranked no. 1, followed by Harvard. British universities rounded out the top five with Cambridge (no. 3); University College London (no. 4); and Imperial College London (no. 5). Cornell claimed the no. 15 spot on that list.
