Just how big is mobile getting? The latest figures are striking.
In 2014, mobile web browsing is growing steadily, with 162.9 million US smartphone owners using their phones for mobile browsing, up 13.7% from 2013, according to new data from eMarketer.
(Total mobile phone usage will grow to 250.6 million, up just 1.6% from last year.)
In social media, mobile growth is robust too. Overall social media mobile is expected to jump 17.9% next year to 117.7 million users. Facebook’s mobile users is forecasted to reach 115.2 million, up 16.1% from 2013. And Twitter’s mobile users will climb to 32.7 million next year, up 16.7%. Twitter says that 8 in 10 users access its network via mobile devices.
