As part of our new partnership with Wheaton College, Sanmita will assist the college with its Luminis portal software. This software powers MyWheaton portal, which is a gateway to Wheaton’s web content for students, faculty and staff. The Luminis platform is popular with many higher education institutions. Students, for example, can use MyWheaton portal to check courses, grades and campus information.
Sanmita team is working with Wheaton’s web and IT team to upgrade Luminis platform. If the portal is not accessible, then Wheaton community members can not access important information. To safeguard against this problem, the college wants a dependable backup plan.The goal of this project is to do the upgrade with minimal impact for faculty, staff and students, but also develop and document a process that will help in future upgrades and support of Luminis software.
Sanmita team members have experience building and maintaining portals, and we will study the Luminis system to devise a plan to best support Wheaton College. Sanmita will collaborate with Wheaton’s IT and web teams to evaluate their current systems and processes, and recommend strategies to build a more robust and scalable web platform. In addition to the Luminis work, we are also exploring opportunities to work together in reviewing/enhancing the usage of web analytics for the college web sites.
In the future, we will also advise Wheaton on its mobile strategy, including developing mobile apps and responsive websites.
