At Sanmita, we are committed to supporting our partners and our local community organizations. In that spirit, we are pleased to provide financial support to Ithaca Motion Picture Project, a non-profit working to preserve Ithaca, New York’s contributions to the silent movie industry. The organization operates a museum in Ithaca’s waterfront Stewart Park and has exciting plans to renovate the museum and expand its programming.
Through the museum and its work, the IMPP is helping to increase the visibility of our community and improve our local economy. Sanmita strongly supports both of these efforts and wants to recognize the IMPP’s excellent work.
Sanmita and IMPP have a long-standing partnership working on the organization’s digital projects. Our team designed and built a website for IMPP several years ago, and we are now refreshing the non-profit’s website and will transition its website management to our exclusive AcademicsWeb content management system (CMS).
In addition to our financial contribution, Sanmita will also sponsor various outreach activities of the non-profit, including mailers, posters, flyers, signage and events.
The Ithaca Motion Picture Project was created in 2009 to establish a museum in the former Wharton movie studio, located in Stewart Park. It is one of just a few remaining buildings in the country that once housed silent movie studios. The museum is being renovated and, as the future Wharton Movie Studio Musuem, will provide a permanent space for exhibits, screenings and programs. We are excited about the IMPP’s future efforts and look forward to sharing more news about partners.
